LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) -- Marquis Gray scored 12 points to lead No. 5 Michigan State to a 65-57 win over Wichita State Sunday in the Old Spice Classic.
Clevin Hannah had 19 points for the Shockers (2-2), who finished sixth.
MSU (4-1) took fifth place in the holiday tournament, bouncing back after a first-round upset by Maryland to win two straight. The Spartans, highest ranked in the eight-team field, went on a 22-8 run midway through the second half to take a 50-39 lead. Hannah hit a pair of 3s and two free throws but the Shockers couldn't draw any closer than five down the stretch.
The game was delayed 45 minutes by rain from a leaking vent that caused puddles to form on the floor with just under 13 minutes left in the first half and the Spartans up 9-7.
