The Detroit Lions opened up mini-camp for the first time in the Rod Marinelli regime today. Marinelli made waves by making his players practice in full pads on the first day of camp, something he deemed as normal around the league. It's a needed change as the Lions have won just 19 games over the past four seasons, failing to meet their potential.

Jon Kitna took the majority of snaps and former Michigan State standout Charles Rogers was confirmed as the number two receiver for the time being. Marinelli preached hard work and conditioning as the only thing that will turn around this Lions franchise.
