Fight Investigation Involves MSU Players

East Lansing police confirm to they are investigating a fight that happened late Saturday night involving as many as eight members of the Michigan State football and hockey teams. A. J. Sturges, a sophomore defenseman from Madison, Wisconsin, is hospitalized at Sparrow in fair condition after an apparent punch put him down. MSU athletic department officials say they are cooperating fully in the probe and no names have been formally released. Police say their investigation may well last into next week before recommendations are given to the Ingham County prosecutor's office. Others involved had minor injuries but did not seek treatment. Several fights occurred throughout the residence where Sturges and other MSU hockey players are living this year.
