NEW YORK (AP) -- Talk about range: Detroit Tigers center fielder Curtis Granderson is heading overseas again, this time to China to promote baseball.
He will hold clinics and make appearances in his role as Major League Baseball ambassador during his weeklong trip to Shanghai and Beijing that began Sunday.
Granderson served in this capacity with trips to England, the Netherlands and Italy in 2006 and South Africa in 2007.
His latest appearance comes at the end of a year in which the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres played exhibition games in March in Beijing. MLB has a permanent office in the Chinese capital.
