Mason High graduate and Olivet College’s May named MIAA Men’s Soccer Co-Player of the Week

OLIVET, Mich. -- Mason High School graduate and Olivet College sophomore Mike May has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week for men’s soccer. He shares the honor with Hope College’s James Trebilock.

May had a part in all three Comet goals at the Denison (Ohio) University Tournament on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 6-7. In a 2-1 loss to the host Big Red on Saturday, he scored a penalty kick goal. May scored a goal and tallied an assist, as Olivet battled to a 2-2 double overtime tie Sunday against unbeaten DePauw (Ind.) University. For the tournament, he had seven shots, including three on-goal.

For the season, May leads the team with seven points (three goals and one assist). He has also taken a team-high 11 shots.
