EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- Michigan State University says safety Roderick Jenrette has been asked to take an indefinite leave of absence from the team to address an undisclosed personal matter.
It was one of two football roster changes announced Thursday by the university's sports information department.
The school said safety Enrique Shaw has voluntarily left the team.
Jenrette was a possible starter in the defensive backfield for the Spartans. Shaw was a reserve.
Michigan State opens the 2008 at California on Aug. 30.
