LANSING – The Lansing Lugnuts are looking to name the top power hitter in the capital city on Thursday, August 21st as they host Hometown Power Night presented by the Lansing Board of Water & Light.
Hometown Power Night affords local softball mashers a chance to test their ability at Oldsmobile Park in home run derby. The contest will consists of three rounds, beginning at 2:00 p.m. The top 10 qualifiers will advance to the second round, where the top three after that will have the chance to slug it out in the finals in front of the crowd preceding Lansing's game against Fort Wayne later that evening.
"Hometown Power Night presented by the Lansing Board of Water & Light is always a fun day and night for everyone involved," Lugnuts General Manger Pat Day said. "We enjoy seeing what Lansing has to offer in terms of power hitters, and if years past are any indication, we are in for a lot of dingers."
