ALLEN PARK, Mich.(AP) -- The Lions' offense didn't look as crisp as the defense during today's controlled scrimmage. That left coach Rod Marinelli with mixed feelings.
The starting defensive unit stifled a two-minute-drill drive late in the session and generally appeared to be farther along.
The running game looked effective at times, but the passing attack wasn't as fresh.
Marinelli said not to read much into what either side did. He says he'd like to see some scoring, but he also intended to keep the offense off-balance as much as possible.
The Lions' annual open practice was held at their Allen Park training facility instead of Ford Field because a concert by country singer Kenny Chesney was booked at the downtown stadium.
