ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -- German basketball recruit Robin Benzing will not enroll at the University of Michigan this fall.
The NCAA has ruled that the 6-foot-10 forward from Seeheim-Jugenheim is not eligible for a Division I scholarship.
Michigan spokesman Tom Wywrot says Benzing did not qualify academically.
Michigan signed Benzing in May to a national letter of intent. At the time, men's basketball coach John Beilein said there might be problems with Benzing's NCAA eligibility.
