Sardinha Sent Back to Toledo

DETROIT (AP) -- The Detroit Tigers have sent catcher Dane Sardinha back to Triple-A Toledo.
The team announced the move Monday.
He was called up to fill in for injured utility player Brandon Inge and serve as backup to catcher Ivan Rodriguez. Inge was sidelined June 23 with a pulled oblique muscle in his abdomen.
Sardinha batted .167 with a triple and two RBIs in five games with the Tigers. He is batting .206 with eight doubles, six home runs and 16 RBIs in 48 games with Toledo.
