SEATTLE (AP) -- The Detroit Tigers have sent injured utility player Brandon Inge to Triple-A Toledo begin a rehabilitation assignment.
The team announced the move Sunday in Seattle, where the Tigers are playing the Mariners.
Inge has been sidelined since June 23 with a pulled oblique muscle in his abdomen. Manager Jim Leyland says he hopes to get Inge back sometime after the All-Star break.
Inge is hitting .215 with six homers and 23 RBIs in 52 games this season. He has started 16 games at third base, caught 16 games and started 11 times in center field.
