BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (AP) -- Louise Rezmer pitched a two-hitter and struck out 16 to lead Bay City All Saints to a 4-0 win over Homer in the Division 4 softball final on Saturday.
Rezmer allowed only a first-inning single to Vickie Vanwert and a fourth-inning single to Ashley Calhoun, then retired the final 10 batters in order.
The Cougars (35-7-1) scored all of their runs with two out in the fifth inning. Becca DeWyse doubled, scoring Louise Rezmer and Selene Rezmer. Chelsea Niemiec pinch ran for DeWyse and scored on a single by Melanie Sobczak, who took second on the throw to the plate and came home on Stephanie Herman's single.
Paige Winchell went the distance for Homer (21-15), allowing eight hits with two walks and two strikeouts.
