DETROIT (AP) -- Tigers center fielder Curtis Granderson can start working out Monday after Detroit determined his broken right hand had healed sufficiently.
Granderson broke a bone in his right hand when he was hit by Philadelphia's Travis Blackley on March 22.
Detroit, off to an 0-5 start, got two players back for Sunday night's game against the Chicago White Sox. Designated hitter Gary Sheffield was in the lineup for the first time since tearing a finger tendon on Thursday, and third baseman Miguel Cabrera returned after straining a quadriceps on Wednesday.
Second baseman Placido Polanco, however, was not in the starting lineup because of a sore back.
