AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) -- The Pistons beat the Portland Trail Blazers 91-82 at the Palace tonight for their seventh straight victory.
Chauncey Billups took advantage of Brandon Roy's absence by scoring 17 points in the first quarter. Roy missed the game because of a death in his family.
Billups didn't score after the first quarter, but it didn't matter. Detroit led by double figures nearly all the rest of the way, even though no starter played more than 28 minutes.
Rookie Rodney Stuckey, Billups' backup, added a career-high 13 points.
Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge led all scorers with 22 points. Jarrett Jack was the only other Trail Blazer to reach double figures, scoring 10.
