The Detroit Tigers have stopped selling season-ticket packages because of the overwhelming demand that followed the team's offseason acquisitions.
New customers have bought the equivalent of 6,600 season tickets and about two-thirds of those fans paid for 81-game plans.
The Tigers sold the equivalent of 19,000 season tickets last season, and anticipate a vast majority of that business back.
Tigers president Dave Dombrowski says the signing of All-Stars Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis at the winter meetings led to an unprecedented spike in ticket sales. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion. Please respect and abide by the house rules:
