Michigan point guard Daniel Horton was sentenced to two years probation and a year of counseling after pleading guilty to a domestic violence charge.

Twenty-year-old Horton was accused of grabbing his girlfriend by the neck and choking her on December 10.

Judge Ann Mattson of the 15th District Court in Ann Arbor sentenced Horton to two years probation and 52 weeks in a batterer's intervention program.

Horton was sentenced under the Holmes Youthful Trainee Act, which allows people under 21 to have convictions wiped from their record if they successfully complete the sentence.

Horton, a junior, has been suspended for the rest of the season.
