MIAMI (AP) -- A family friend says Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor has died, a day after he was shot in the leg at his Florida home.
Taylor's former lawyer, Richard Sharpstein, says he got the news in a call from Taylor's father. Sharpstein calls Taylor's death "a tremendously sad and unnecessary event." He says Taylor was a "wonderful, humble, talented young man" with "a huge life in front of him."
