A man accused of throwing a chair during a brawl at a Detroit Pistons game last month appeared in court Tuesday in Rochester Hills for a brief hearing.

Bryant Jackson is the only person facing a felony charge in the brawl between Pistons fans and Indiana Pacers players.

Monday, a judge scheduled a preliminary examination as well as a separate identity hearing for Jackson on January 25. The judge told the Flint-area man that he'll need a separate lawyer to represent him for the identity hearing.

Police say defense lawyer Kenneth Karasick identified his client as the chair-thrower, which could make him a witness and possibly force him off the case.
