MSU Football Players Suspended Following Assault Charges

Two Michigan State football players have been indefinitely suspended from the team after being charged with assaulting and attempting to rob a fellow student.

Miles Williams and Hugh D'Imperio were charged in connection with a November 20 incident on campus. Both players are freshmen.

Michigan State coach John L. Smith suspended both players from the team after learning of the charges.

Police records indicate the incident took place after 3:30 a.m. outside a college dorm. The victim escaped into the dorm unharmed.
