ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -- Mike Hart became Michigan's all-time leading rusher today against Eastern Michigan.
Hart needed 33 yards to break Anthony Thomas' record of 4,472 yards rushing. The senior surpassed the mark midway through the first quarter.
He started a drive from the Michigan one-yard-line with a 20-yard run, then broke Thomas' record by making a defender miss in the backfield and picking up 14 yards.
Hart finished with 215 yards on 22 carries and three touchdowns in the Wolverines' 33-22 win.
Thomas played for Michigan from 1997 to 2000. He's now with the NFL's Buffalo Bills.
