In a press conference at 5 p.m. Thursday, Governor Jennifer Granholm has announced schools will now be faced with an additional $127 reduction in per-pupil funding. That's already on top of the $165 per-pupil reductions in funding signed earlier this week.
In all, schools are now dealing with a $292 reduction in per-pupil funding for this current fiscal year which, for schools, started in July.
Schools that receive "20-J" funding, which is additional funds for certain wealthier districts, will be dealing with an even larger per-student reduction.
