MSU 10.1% Tuition Increase

The MSU Board of Trustees voted in favor of raising tuition at the university by 10.1% over the next two years. Tuition for the coming 2009-2010 is increased 5.2%, That adds $540 to the price tag. Tuition will be bumped up another 4.9% for the 2010-2011 school year.
In a written statement, the university said that if MSU receives federal stimulus funds, the tuition increase may be reduced to 2.5 - 3% for resident undergraduate students.
The news isn't all bad. The board also approved a 30% increase in financial aid over the next two years. 17% increase for the 2009-2010 year and 13% for 2010-2011.
