students in lansing schools have a huge disadvantage when it comes to the k-12 experience. Most kids grow up with homecomings and sports on a friday night. Lansing kids have to purchase bullet proof vests and ccw permits in the fall on the "lansing" back to school specials instead of new clothes.

They always say communication is the key. TC Wallace said that before he even really got a good foot in the door. Still they are saying communication. Yes they have magnet schools which teach to science degrees or math degrees. What about the average kid? With the violence in the High Schools and the uncertainty of student numbers, they can't promise anything that will stick. Lansing schools are a dangerous place for the average student.
