Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore will continue offering its weekend snowshoe hikes in March for as long as snow conditions allow.
The park in Michigan's northwestern Lower Peninsula offers ranger-guided hikes beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
They get under way at the Philip A. Hart Visitor Center on state Route 72 in Empire. After getting some basic instruction, participants travel by car to a trailhead.
Rangers say the hikes are mildly strenuous, but go at a leisurely pace and don't exceed 1.5 miles.
People who don't own snowshoes can reserve a free pair.
