Pharmacy Technician Instructor
CAREER QUEST LEARNING CENTERS

Salary: $19.23 per hour

Description: As an instructor you will work with staff, faculty and students to provide a warm, friendly, nurturing atmosphere, where students can learn the skills required to obtain the job they need. Primary Responsibilities: Teach subjects within the Pharmacy Technician curriculum. Prepare and deliver lecture and lab demonstrations as outlined in curriculum. Perform related duties such as advising students on academic and vocational curricula, and acting as adviser to student organizations. Ensure student's conceptual understanding of employability skills. Research, update and augment lecture material and lab skills. Actively participate in faculty staff meetings and in-service trainings. Directly supervise daily activities and tasks of students. Promote skills through demonstration and repetition. Encourage use of support and resources systems including student services, and other support organizations. Seek alternatives to improving student outcomes, reducing attrition and improving retention. Track and advise students of their academic and attendance progress. Demonstrate effective teaching skills and conduct tutorial sessions as needed. Assess student achievement and ensure accuracy of all student records. Stay current with trends in vocational education and allied health through professional development. Monitor student dress code and professional behavior. Follow State requirements for Continuing Education Units. Actively support campus initiatives, company policies and procedures, goals and student outcomes.

Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and possess the ability to effectively present information to management and/or public groups and to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Applicant must be able to conduct, evaluate and deliver course information that will meet standardized requirements for Pharmacy Technicians based on industry standards and be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Applicant must also ensure that students
achieve the soft skills and technical skills that lead to employability.
Applicant must possess related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and
experience in pharmacy setting - Pharmacy Technician certification - CPhT is highly preferred.

Responsibilities include: ensures all products are rotating on a first-in, first-out philosophy, ensures all
requisitions are processed properly and placed in designated area, maintains solid knowledge of all food
products, identify and safely use all kitchen equipment, regularly runs for food and restocks all kitchen supplies
and food items required for service, properly labels and dates all products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation,
applies basic knife skills required for preparation, reads, measures and executes recipes, assists (as needed)
with decorating of cakes and pastries, maintains a solid menu knowledge and attention to detail with product
presentation, assists staff as needed in execution of production, works as a team-player, assisting helpers and
chef’s needs and inquiries, effectively communicates with management and service staff in order to fulfill and
address any issues or needs requested by customers and or other employees, performs other job-related duties
as requested.

Requirements:
At least 2 years of baking experience.
A working knowledge of basic equipment including, but not limited to, a slicing machine, mixers, VCR, and small
wares equipment
A working knowledge of health, safety and sanitation procedures
A working knowledge of weights and measures
Excellent customer service skills
Professional appearance and demeanor
Ability to speak, read and write in English
