Description: - Provides support for the operation, scheduling and maintenance of all student video, audio, and film labs. - Provides support for the checkout and return of student equipment. Provide support for duplication of media materials. - Provides support for AV Services. - Provides support for the scheduling, distribution, inventory and maintenance of video/audio labs and remote video, audio and lighting equipment. - Provides student instructional support in the operation of video/audio labs and remote video, audio and lighting equipment. - Maintains inventory of all supplies (tapes, DVDs, CDs, lab kits, etc.) circulated in support of DMAC classes. - Maintains identification, tracking, usage and repair statistics for all lab and remote equipment. - Oversees the CD, DVD & Audio Tape duplication services. - Provides support for AV Services operations as needed. Requirements: Must have a high school diploma - Associates degree in a related field is preferred. Description: The Michigan Economic Development Corporation is offering an opportunity to play a key role in developing and growing Michigan’s technology-based economy as a Venture Advisor. The Venture Advisor is a critical member of a team that delivers vital start-up development services to emerging, high-growth technology companies. This team member is passionate about the entrepreneurial economy and is responsible for engaging new technology companies, educating them about the venture development process, assembling the appropriate internal team necessary to evaluate start-up company potential, providing strategic business advisory services, facilitating an integrated and viable financial path, connecting start-ups to relevant strategic partners, assisting companies to sources of risk capital, and managing the long-term portfolio company relationship. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in any Business related field, Entrepreneurship, or technical fields such as life sciences or Engineering and an MBA or equivalent degree from a major or well-recognized university. A combination of significant work experiences as an entrepreneur, venture capitalist, or in corporate business development in biotech/biomed industry is desirable. This position is based at the Michigan Life Sciences Innovation Center in Plymouth, Michigan, and also bears responsibility for oversight of the building (though building maintenance support is present). This includes P&L responsibility, arranging for services for the companies (BBC, MichBio mixers, etc.) and helping the 26 incubating companies to move forward. Requirements: Minimum Education Required: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.). A master’s degree is preferred. Minimum Experience Required: Minimum of ten years’ experience in a technology business or related activity. Technology commercialization experience and work with biotech companies is necessary. Experience running a biotech company is desirable. The ideal candidate will have worked in a venture firm, an early stage spin-out(s) in life sciences, or a university applied research department. Has experience in a technology business, economic development, or related activity; technology commercialization experience is a plus; experience interfacing with university science, engineering, business, and private equity.
