AmeriCorps Program Manager

Salary: $35,000 per year

Description: AmeriCorps is a federally funded service program that assigns resources to non-profits to address critical needs in the community. The AmeriCorps Program Manager is responsible for managing all of the program components necessary for obtaining community impacting objectives, policies and procedures of Michigan Habitat’s AmeriCorps program. • Grant coordination: the Program Manager is responsible for developing, submitting and managing the federal grant for AmeriCorps. • Along with affiliate and HFHM staff, create viable AmeriCorps positions and objectives that will support Habitat initiatives. • Monitor member activities and sites for compliance; review and approve member time reports; review, aggregate and submit member progress data. • Maintain member and program files. • Provide sites with member recruitment, retention and recognition best practices. • Provide quarterly grant status and compliance reports to the Michigan Community Service Commission. • Ensure appropriate member insurance coverage, resolve UAI and worker compensation issues in a timely manner. • Member coordination: the Program Manager ensures that the AmeriCorps program will enable members to have powerful service experiences that produce community impact and lead to continued civic participation. This can be accomplished by • Providing effective training events and connectivity with other AmeriCorps participants. • Distributing program, supervisor and member evaluations/performance reviews at least twice per service term. • Financial accuracy: the Program Manager, working closely with the Financial Manager is responsible for developing and managing the program budget. Tasks include: • Along with the Financial Manager, ensure that all required financial activities are being done in a timely, accurate manner. This includes member payroll, site invoicing, in-kind tracking and monthly draws. • If necessary, issue requests for budget modifications, line item transfers and grant extension. • Attend all Michigan Community Service Commission meetings and some Corporation for National and Community Service events as approved. • Outreach/marketing: the Program Manager will provide program performance reports to the CEO and Board of Directors on a regular basis. The Manager will actively solicit new sites to expand program and will promote the program in the community on behalf of Habitat for Humanity of Michigan. Description: • Responsible for organizing raw information to create narratives that inform and engage the target audience. -• Working independently and on a team, will create storyboards, simple scripting, and produce and edit video. -• Will travel to events to capture photo and video content • Responsible for organizing and maintaining photo and video database, and posting content to social media. • Will develop and maintain an awareness and image among all constituents of the Girl Scout movement and purpose within the council’s jurisdiction • Working with Communications Team Leader will assist in creating strategies for PR/Media marketing campaigns to promote a positive image of Girl Scouting to external audiences through newsletters, videos, brochures, media, radio, television, and photography • Will assist with Department Team Leaders to create internal videos to be used for volunteer and staff development • As assigned, promote the image and programs of the council to current and new audiences • Will work with various departments within organization to assist in the creation and editing of videos used for trainings with volunteers and staff. • Create and manage a council YouTube page to create and maintain a positive image of Girl Scouting • Attend and record events that occur in the multiple regions of Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan • Will work evenings and weekends.6.
