FT Technical Specialist- Graphic Designer
LANSING COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Salary: $17.41 per hour

Description: Provides high-quality graphic design skills used to promote the people, programs and special events of LCC. Responsible for coordinating assignments, plus conceptualization and execution of a wide variety of high impact design elements for print, video, online media, outdoor electronic signs and other environmental promotions. Facilitates production schedules and includes client and vendor contact. Essential Duties: Designs and executes printed collateral material and online graphic images for college-wide marketing projects, including, but not limited to: brochures, mailers, course catalogs, posters, packaging, flyers, displays and advertising in all printed and online media. Manages project timelines from conception to delivery of job. This includes meeting with clients and vendors, reviewing proofs, and establishing turnaround times. Develops and implements processes and procedures to fulfill delivery dates and to provide excellent customer service. Establishes and provides project specifications and timelines for competitive bid processes through Purchasing department and directly with print vendors. Provides research, consultation and technical expertise to clients with regard to design and file preparation. Provides editing, conversion and duplication of printed projects into electronic media for e-mail and the Web. Provides support for college corporate identification standards such as logo usage, college branding and visual guideline issues for printed and electronic media. Core Competencies: Has knowledge and can demonstrate the ability to use industry-standard desktop publishing and illustration software and equipment, including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Word. Skills in page layout, typography, computer-generated illustration, computer photo color-correction and retouching. Understands composition, type usage and general color theory as they relate to printed media. Knowledgeable in traditional print processes such as lithography, silk-screening and ink-jet printing. Able to make creative suggestions in the interest of the organization. Excellent ability to work with college clients and deadline orientated. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design Minimum of five years industry experience. Has knowledge and can demonstrate the ability to use industry-standard desktop publishing and illustration software and equipment, including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Word. Skills in page layout, typography, computer-generated illustration, computer photo color-correction and retouching. This position works closely with marketing coordinators, customer clients and vendors to achieve effective marketing materials for recruitment, retention, fundraising activities, events and B2B sales. Description: Air Lift Company a leading designer, manufacturer, and provider of control systems, air springs, air suspension systems, load assist systems, and other related products are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer. Participates in timely collaborative analysis with counterparts in Engineering, Supply Chain and Manufacturing Engineering to identify root cause for non-conformance and facilitates suitable corrective actions and follow-on preventative measures. Drives continuous improvement efforts based on customer feedback, trending, and business need. Responsibilities Build and sustain strong relationships with internal and external customers Create and maintain Control Plans in support of process development and continuous improvement Use common problem solving tools to facilitate root-cause analysis of defects and drive continuous improvement. As necessary, train counterparts and facilitate formal problem solving activities Lead efforts for the development and implement Statistical Process Control in areas of high business risk Maintain sampling plans for assigned components; ensure appropriate acceptance sampling levels for final inspection Use Quality System software to document non conformance’s Collect, monitor, trend, and communicate Key Process Indicators for assigned components Data collection and reporting, Lab View experience preferred Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree is required with a B.S. In Quality, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical or Industrial Engineering Five years minimum experience in quality or manufacturing engineering of control systems preferred Demonstrated expertise or formal training in common quality statistical tools Examples: Control Charting (SPC), Process Capability Calculation, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility, and Significance Testing Formal training in six-sigma, 8D, Shainen, red X, or other problem solving methods preferred Experience in the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) Certification as a Quality Engineer through the American Society for Quality preferred Technician level certification in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance Blueprint/Engineering schematic reading and interpretation. Advanced inspection techniques. Advanced PC skills. Must be able to generate, follow and explain detailed quality requirements and inspection procedures Experience in the implementation, management or Certified Auditor Training of the TS16949 Standard. Must be able to communicate product and/or component parts deficiencies to internal and external customers. Must be able to identify and analyze non-routine product issues using independent judgment and inspection equipment. Must be able to plan, organize, and implement multiple concurrent tasks.
