Former MSU football player Ashton Leggett pleaded guilty of 2 counts of assault and battery in court Thursday morning. Leggett could get jail time or community service when he's sentenced at a later date. When the judge asked if there was anything else, Leggett said he wants to apologize not only for his actions, but for his teammates as well. "It was a very stupid act. As a group, we weren't thinking and didn't fully understand we would be jeopardizing our future like this, so on behalf of me and the others, i'd like to apologize and hope for forgiveness."
Other players in court Thursday include Brian Cunningham, J'Michael Deane, Mark Dell, Roderick Jenrette, Christopher L. Rucker, Frederick Smith, Jamihr Williams and Glenn Winston. The judge adjourned all eight of them until a later date.
On Wednesday, head coach Mark Dantonio told News 10 eight of the twelve suspended players have been reinstated pending further legal developments. The four other players have transferred out of MSU. They include Ashton Leggett, Ishmyl Johnson, Bryndon Trawick and Jamihr Williams.
