Syrian Activists Report Dozens of Deaths

BEIRUT (AP) -- Activists in Syria are reporting another day of deadly attacks by government forces. They say the military bombed a northern village and stormed a suburb of Damascus held by rebels, and that dozens of people were killed.
Meanwhile, a Syrian government official is warning the United States that if it intervenes in Syria, the civil war there will spread to other countries in the region.
The conflict has already spilled over into neighboring Lebanon, where sectarian tensions have risen. Clashes broke out last night in the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli that killed at least six people and wounded more than 70 others.
The fighting involved gunmen from a Sunni neighborhood and a neighboring district that is mostly populated by members of a sect that is an offshoot of Shiite Islam.
