CAIRO, EGYPT - Thousands of supporters of ousted President Mohammed Morsi have taken to the streets in the capital of Cairo and across the country demanding the former president be reinstated as the leader of this country. Now they're calling this breaking the coup and it is a movement that has been organized by the brotherhood and other Islamist parties demanding that the military reverse its course after it ousted the leader back in July third. Meanwhile security across the country remains very tense. The military and police have deployed in large numbers to try and avert any confrontation..kind of like the ones we've been seeing in recent weeks between opponents and supporters of the president. The country's interim president, Adli Mansour, addressed the nation for the first time and reiterated the need to keep Egypt stable and to move it away from any type of chaos.
Against that backdrop, the Egyptian military continues a large scale offensive operation in the Sinai peninsula in an attempt to try and root out militants that have become more brazen in their attacks against security positions all across the Sinai peninsula.
