TORONTO (AP) -- One man has been killed and seven other people have been injured in a shooting at one of Canada's busiest malls.
Witnesses say a gunman opened fire today in a crowded food court at Eaton Centre in downtown Toronto.
A police official says two of the victims are in critical condition, including a 13-year old boy. A 25-year-old man died at the scene.
In all six people were shot, including the deceased.
According to the official, two people were trampled on and pushed, including a pregnant woman who then went into labor.
Witnesses say multiple shots were fired in the mall's food court and that hundreds of panicked shoppers sprinted for the exits.
The mall, which is popular with tourists, was evacuated.
The suspect has not been apprehended.
Police have concluded a search of the mall and are in the process of reviewing security tapes.
