Civilian Deaths in Iraq

A British group that monitors Iraq civilian deaths said Thursday that deaths in 2010 were slightly lower than in 2009. Iraqis attributed the decrease to improved security but the group called "Iraq Body Count" warned that there will be a lingering low-level conflict for years to come. The group also said the government's acceptance of all non-violent political groups has led to less violence. Iraq Body Count said 3,976 civilians died as of December 25th of this year compared with 4,680 civilians last year. is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion.
