Pre-school at Dimondale Elementary in Holt was canceled Wednesday, after the staph infection MRSA is discovered in a student.
The child did not have to be hospitalized and can come back to school on Monday.
MRSA is a contagious infection that starts out as a red bump on the skin and can easily be transmitted from person to person.
The district says notes were sent home to parents making them aware of the situation.
The building is being disinfected and the pre-school will be open Thursday.
