Free tuberculosis tests will be offered at Utica High School after a test confirmed that a student has the disease.
Macomb County spokesman Phil Frame says the student's diagnosis was confirmed on Monday. A second test is pending.
Letters will be mailed home on Monday or Tuesday to about 300 students, teachers and employees suggesting they get tested for TB.
Frame says letters also may be sent home at a second high school the student attended, Eisenhower High School in neighboring Shelby Township.
Tuberculosis skin tests will be offered at the school or schools early next week. Health officials will return later in the week to read results.
