10 MSU Students Hospitalized

Ten Michigan State University students have been admitted to hospitals over the past week with what officials say are likely cases of E. coli infection.
The East Lansing school says all of the students reported symptoms of bloody diarrhea. Seven of the students remained hospitalized Monday and all were expected to recover.
University physician Beth Alexander tells The State News that only two of the cases have been linked to the same strain of E. coli bacteria so far.
Michigan State and the Ingham County Health Department are trying to identify the cause and source of the illness.
Symptoms of E. coli infection can also include severe stomach cramps, vomiting and fever. Most people recover within days.
