Updated: 06/01/2013 - It's been years in the making, but a local teacher is finally getting the recognition she deserves. While it's not about academics, it is about inspiring students. Amanda Sucher successfully finished the Lansing Half Marathon, but never got her medal, until Friday. As News Ten's Brian Johnson reports, getting the medal isn't just about winning an award--it's about inspiring students to achieve their dreams.
Updated: 05/29/2013 - State lawmakers are having second thoughts about what your child should be learning in school. The Common Core standards put in place three years ago with regard to reading, writing and math could disappear if the republican-controlled legislature gets its way.
Updated: 05/06/2013 - If at first you don't succeed, try try again. That seems to be the strategy among school districts when it comes to millages. Nearly a dozen of them in Ingham, Eaton, Clinton and Jackson Counties are asking voters for more money on Tuesday's ballot. While some of the millages were voted down in November -- some districts are hoping voters will have a change of heart this time around.
