Consumer Alert: Contaminated Coffee?

Sunny Maid Corp. is recalling plastic bags of Mr. Brown 3-in-1 and 2-in-1 packets of coffee mix, because they could be contaminated with melamine, which is used to make plastics and fertilizers. The recalled bags each contain 30 individual packets of coffee mix. The recall includes 3-in-1 and 2-in-1 packets of the Mandheling flavor and 3-in-1 packets of the Arabica flavor. No incidents have been reported.
The mixes were distributed to wholesalers and retail stores in California, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Mexico, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.
