PITTSBURGH (AP) -- A Pittsburgh artist has designed a Barbie-like doll that is normally proportioned, and his efforts to fund the project and market it are paying off.

Nickolay Lamm, who majored in marketing at the University of Pittsburgh, has named the doll Lammily.

Lamm tells WTAE-TV he used statistics from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to create a three-dimensional computer model of the doll, which is based on what the government says are the normal proportions of an attractive, 19-year-old female.

Lamm hopes to take the prototype he created into production by November, and has created a web site, www.lammily.com , to raise the $95,000 he says that will cost.

The web site says he's already raised more than twice that much from more than 6,200 online backers.
