Veterans Day Freebies

A handful of local restaurants are giving away freebies this week--- to honor our servicemen and women.

Veteran's day is Thursday--- so cancel your plans for lunch or dinner and spend it with an active or retired member of our military instead.

Applebee's and Chili's will give vets a freebie from a special menu--- and Outback Steakhouse is offering a free Bloomin' Onion and beverage.

Proof of military service must be shown to get the deal.

I am sorry but the cook needs to be repreminded, this was a decided by the powers that be not a kid who works in the resturant for peanuts. If he doesn't like it thats ok but the odds were that there were Vets in the resturant, therefore he should have kept his darn mouth shut. Besides what was he doing out of the kitchen running is mouth. Seems lunch times are kind of busy.

Just finished lunch at Applebee's at the Lansing mall location. They have a banner paying tribute to local heros in the military.
I felt pretty good about this being a veteran myself.
But what tarnished this was the cook came out and ask what the heck is the banner for... Then he proceeded to comment on how stupid everyone in the military was, and why would you put your life on the line for something that does not Concern you. All I have to say I could have handled the situation better but his stupidity ignited a fire inside me that could not be put out.
All I said to the kid was o was in the military for 8 years, you may not agree with many of the decisions that the gov. May make but I this case you need to shut the he'll up and just thank means everyone that has served in the military!
All i have to say is if you are going to spout off about the military in a Negative manner you better know your sorroundings. We are the military we are trained to deal with situations such as what was presented to me. We are an intelligent, highly trained fighting force, and we are done defending our country in foreign lands we come home!!!
