WASHINGTON -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says House Democrats will continue to work with the president and Republicans to improve a tax cut proposal before the House votes on it.
Following today's vote by the House Democratic Caucus to reject the plan as written, the California Democrat said the caucus is committed to providing the middle class with a tax cut "to grow the economy and create jobs."
She says that a House-passed bill, which Republicans blocked in the Senate, didn't include what she calls "a bonus tax cut to millionaires and billionaires."
Democratic congresswoman Shelley Berkley of Nevada says the caucus voice vote was lopsided. She says she was the only one to support bringing the tax package to the floor.
When asked what happens next, Democratic leader James Clyburn of South Carolina said: "I don't know."

Obama is a genius. He made the dems look like jerk while he appears to walk on water. If they did not pass it, he would blame them. If they did, he would look like a hero.
