Supplement Praised as Potential Fountain of Youth

Better sleep, stronger joints, a boosted immune system-- and a younger look? Some say you can get all of that in just one supplement, called TA-65.

A pharmaceutical giant discovered it, now patients swear by its anti-aging powers.

Actress Suzanne Somers is such a big fan of the supplement she recommends it in her new book Bombshell.

"It's almost like science fiction," Joe Edwards, who takes TA-65 said.

Edwards says he stopped driving and was tired and listless before taking TA-65. But after a year on the supplement, the 73-year-old says he has the energy of a much younger man. His arthritis is almost gone, even a toe that required surgery is no longer a problem.

"I can move it again," Edwards explained. "It's the only explanation I have."

As we age the tips of our chromosomes called telemeres shorten. Animal studies link shorter telomeres to a shorter life span. The makers of TA-65 say their supplement activiates an enzyme that increases the length of telomeres or slows how fast they shorten. They say TA-65 promotes cell health and longevity.

"If we can keep them long, it's a good thing," Dr. Raymond Ishman said.

Ishman recommends the supplement to his patients. He agrees that TA-65 repairs and lenthens telomeres, but says maintaining a healthy lifestyle is just as important and he admits it would be an overstatement to say the pill stops aging.

"There is no magic bullet of course, but it is a very important component because of what it does," Ishman added.

"I would say buyer beware," oncologist Dr. Jean-Pierre Issa countered. Issa says in general supplements like TA-65 should be avoided because they are not tested or given approval by the Food and Drug administration.

"Most clinical trials when done with supplements show either no effect, so it's a waste of money, or more alarmingly a bad effect. There have been several trials with supplements that were widely taken and thought to be good that were found to increase mortality, increase the risk of cancer," Issa said.

The founder of T.A. Sciences, which makes TA-65 says there is no evidence the supplement causes unwanted human cell over production. He believes the potential benefit of the supplement outweights any theoretical risk.

Meanwhile Joe Edwards is back to driving and syas he's stronger than he's been in years.

"I'm up and interested and doing things again," Edwards said.

It is recommended that you check with your physician before taking any new supplement.

You are born, you live, you die. Jeez I'd hate for anything to mess that up. It's been good for all these years.

There is a new all natural product that has just released to the public that didn't get mentioned in Suzanne Somer's new book because she probably didn't know about it. It was developed by an organic supplement company and it's getting a lot of attention. Visit for more information or contact me directly.
