PEARLAND, Texas (AP) -- Police in Pearland, Texas, have a successful end to report after two masked gunmen took seven hostages at a bank and three other people hid in a closet.
The robbery attempt led to a four hour standoff with the last gunman and the final two hostages leaving the Chase Bank building about 4 p.m. Police also brought out the three people who had been hiding in the closet. Authorities never mentioned them to ensure their safety.
Five hostages, including the bank manager, came out earlier, as did the first gunman.
The standoff began at 11:30 a.m. when the gunmen entered the bank, injuring the manager when he refused to open the vault.
Authorities say the manager was treated at a hospital as a result of the beating.
