WOLFEBORO, N.H. (AP) -- Mitt Romney says the Supreme Court has decided that President Barack Obama's health care mandate is a tax, but he maintains that the high court has made clear it does not consider a Massachusetts health care mandate a tax.
The Republican presidential candidate told CBS News on Wednesday that the Supreme Court opinion makes clear that states have the power to put in place a mandate or a penalty and that it is constitutional.
The former Massachusetts governor said that the court's opinion said states have the power to pass such a penalty, but the federal government does not. And he said for the court to find Obama's plan constitutional they had to rule his mandate was a tax.
Therefore, Romney says: "Obamacare's a tax."

Really don't care what you call it (tax or penalty) it needs to be paid to ensure coverage for everyone. If we had universal coverage we could spend more on health services than on administrative expenses to see if someone is eligible.

Romney sent a lot of jobs over seas, how is he going to get rid of unemployeement when he actually caused most of it. He don't care, just a lot of talk to fill up empty ears. Every American should have some form of insurance, maybe our premiums would come down.

I work in healthcare and all the unpaid bills by the uninsured are currently being paid by the taxpayers and the employers who pay a higher rate for benefits. Many people who could afford insurance don't currenlty purchase it because they know they can be treated for free in the ER's. At least Obama is trying to make people accountable for having their own insurance even if they need to have government assistance. When all is said and done; it will be interesting to see where all of Romney's money is currently located and how he has avoided paying taxes. Also check out Bain corporation and how Romney made money off heathcare and sending jobs overseas.

How can the penalty be a tax? It is only applied to anyone who does not purchase medical insurance; not to everyone. Also, if I remember correctly, Gov. Romney's health care plan was the model that Obamacare was based on. Now, he is calling the penalty a tax. Does not the man have any honesty in him?

I agree with all of you, Romney is a snake, and if people don;t see that, they deserve what they vote for.

What would Romney know, he is a joke and has no clue about anything but tax breaks for the rich and tax increases for everyone else.
