Police in Colorado say they will start meeting with the families of shooting victims to tell them the fate of their loved ones.
Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates says the last of the 10 deceased victims from the midnight showing of a Batman movie was removed from the theater Friday afternoon.
Oates says officers expect to get a confirmed list of the deceased and meet with their families Friday night.
In addition to the 10 people who died at the theater, two others later died from their injuries.
Oates says there are 70 victims but not all were shot. Eleven are in critical condition.
The chief says suspect James Holmes purchased four guns at local gun shops and 6,000 rounds of ammunition through the Internet.
Holmes was in custody Friday.

Chicago is the perfect example of how gun control does not work.....more people have been murdered there than in Afganistan this year alone.......The bad guys KNOW that the good people aren't allowed to have guns, not even the business owners (party store, etc) ! So, living in Chicago is risky !! The bad guy's mecca.... and I do believe that the responsible ones that carry in this country would help during these awful scenarios...(I know that this particular jerk had on bullet proof gear.)

Get real... if you're anti self defense, go find another place to be a sheep... I'm going to continue to carry my defense.

Mark, Do you really believe that if more people had guns in the theater that night that fewer people woul have died? I think you have a very idealistic view of how this works. You really believe that the shooter would be identified in seconds and everyone would have perfect aim at that one person and no one else would get hit? Get real! Obviously, as a "responsible" gun owner you have perfect aim with your gun and the ability to size up a situation in a split second--you know, things police spend years training for. But, you're right, the average joe can have the same ability if we would just have more guns. Brilliant!

Again, PLEASE take the guy's picture off the website. It's not like he hasn't been caught. We don't need to keep seeing his face.

Why did you completely avoid the fact that the Cinemark Theater chain has a "gun free zone" policy? The legally armed citizens could not carry weapons but this criminal did. Please be fair in your reporting and adhere to your journalistic oath to present the facts in a non-opionated fashion. Had people been armed this likely would not have happened. Notice that the most sensational gun violence is occuring where guns can not be carried by citizens legally allowed to do so. How sad sad it is when people needlessly die when they could have lived. Please help us stop the violence and report the good of the armed citizen. Even the Martin case is biased as the media has not shown a recent picture of the teen criminal who was trespassing in a gated community where he did not belong in the first place. Instead of fairly reporting the facts we are shown a cake with lit candles and smoke obscuring the real picture of truth. Thank you for your time.

Yes, the ensuing gunfight in a dark, smoke-filled theater with a flashing movie playing would have worked out great...not to mention the guy was covered head to toe in armor. So we assume the armed citizen would have been able to accurately aim his pistol and hit the guy in the eye in this chaotic environment? Are you (as a presumed right-winger) also advocating for laws to be implemented mandating private businesses allow guns on their premises, because I'm confused - normally right-wingers want no rules on private businesses. They should be allowed to ban blacks if they want to (free market, baby!), but must be forced to allow guns. Got it.
