NACO, Ariz. (AP) -- The FBI says it has pledged all of its resources from across the country to assist and support the investigation into the fatal shooting of a Border Patrol agent in southern Arizona.
Agent Nicholas Ivie and a colleague were on patrol in the desert near Naco -- about 100 miles from Tucson -- when shooting broke out shortly before 2 a.m. Tuesday.
The 30-year-old Ivie was killed and the second agent is recovering in a hospital after being shot in the ankle and buttocks.
The FBI says Ivie leaves behind a wife and two children.
