CHULA VISTA, Calif. (AP) -- Police say a Border Patrol agent fatally shot a woman in suburban San Diego while being driven on the hood of her car.
Chula Vista police Capt. Gary Wedge said the agent fired Friday after being driven a couple hundred yards on the car hood. He says he does not have more information about the circumstances of the shooting.
The Border Patrol released a statement that an agent fired a gun while conducting operations in Chula Vista. It did not elaborate.
The shooting occurred about five miles north of the Mexican border.
The FBI and Chula Vista police are investigating.
