The results of the snow and ice are evident as a car sits in a ditch on Braselton Highway in Hamilton Mill.

AAA Michigan says it assisted more than 4,000 motorists across the state during this week's big winter storm.
Auto club spokeswoman Nancy Cain says that's not a record, but constituted a "very busy" period for AAA workers.
Most of the calls for help stemmed from spinouts and cars in ditches.
Cain says several hundred more motorists already have called for help Thursday morning, mostly due to dead batteries and some spinouts.
This week's storm dropped a foot of snow in some areas and created drifts as high as 3 to 5 feet deep in others.
