Owen Groesser is an eighth grader from Rochester, MI. He loves sports and manages the seventh-grade basketball team. A pretty typical story, but Owen is not a typical kid. Owen didn't make the eighth grade team, but still wanted to be involved, and volunteered to manage the seventh grade team. Owen has Down's Syndrome, and up until Wednesday night had never played with the team, during a game.

Owen was allowed to suit up for the team's last home game of the season, and he and his teammates decided to go with a play they call"The Owen." It worked, and Owen scored two three-point baskets in a matter of moments on the court. The crowd in attendance at the game went wild, and the gymnasium rang with cheers for Owen's performance; but it didn't end there.

Owen's teammates, took to Twitter, using the video of Owen making the basket, and hashtag #GetOwenOnSportsCenter, doing their best to get Owen featured on ESPN's flagship show, SportsCenter. It started to gain steam, and soon was a "trending topic" on Twitter. ESPN noticed, and at 11 p.m. Owen's three-point shot led off the show's nightly top 10 plays of the day. By the 1:30 a.m. broadcast, Owen's shot was the top play overall.
