Michigan officials say the state's unemployment rate has remained unchanged in the past month, with little movement since summer 2009.

The state Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth said Wednesday that Michigan's seasonally adjusted jobless rate was 14.1 percent in March, the same as in February but up from 12.6 percent in March 2009.

National comparisons aren't yet available for March, but Michigan's February unemployment rate was highest for any state and well above the U.S. rate of 9.7 percent. Michigan has had at least a share of the nation's highest jobless rate for four consecutive years.

The biggest state job losses in the past 12 months have been 28,000 jobs in manufacturing and 16,000 in construction.
